Antique Carved English Breadboard - Garland of Oak Leaves and Acorns

A good example of an early 20th Century carved English sycamore breadboard, with a clear and well defined garland border of oak leaves and acorns. 

At the time this was produced, carved breadboards were extremely popular household items at the time, often given as wedding presents.

This example has had some use over the years, with some light knife marks in the centre of the board, plus some staining to the rear. The border is very well defined, with the acorns standing notably plump against the oak leaf pattern.  There is some discolouration to the front of the board although this appears to be in keeping with the natural grain of the wood.

The board sits flat, so is good for regular use.
