A charming and naturally timeworn antique 19th Century French extra large confit pot, which is a fantastic rustic piece for the home. A French country piece, it would have been used for preserving different oils or foods in a countryside property.

This confit pot is a little more unusual than most you see, with the outside left in its natural unglazed state and the inside glazed with the mustard yellow colour that is synonymous with pots from the Provence region.

As a piece that would have been in day to day use in the home, this confit pot has suffered some damage in its lifetime. There are scuff marks and odd splashes of paint to the outside but, most notably, there is a chip to the top rim. But there are no cracks and it is in very solid condition.

As decorative pieces of homeware, these pots are always in high demand. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used for display purposes anywhere in the home.
