This is a fantastic and rare piece, a yellow glazed 19th Century seille, which would have been used in dairy production to separate the curd from the whey after milking cows. A primitive and rustic piece, these French pastoral pieces are now stunning items to use as decorative pieces around the home. I love the drip marks running down the terractotta on this example. Ideal for use as a unique planter, or washing up tidy, or to store napkins in. It is in fair condition considering its age and background use. There is a knock on one side of the pot. This has resulted in a crack on this inside of the glaze but the main part of the terracotta has not cracked, and the piece is all stable and secure. Height, 17cm; Width, 20cm; Depth, 18.5cm
