Antique 19th Century French Heart Shaped Inkwell

A lovely piece of antique French faience pottery, a glazed earthenware inkwell in the shape of a heart.

Beautifully decorated with a floral border in muted tones, this encrier - or inkwell - dates from the mid to late 19th Century. There are two glass removable inkwell sections, and three holes for nibs. 

It is in excellent condition considering the age of this piece. There are some surface scuffs to the glaze, most notable around the inkwells from where they would have been used. And there are also some nibbles and scrapes to the glaze around the top rim. However, there are no chips or cracks. One of the glass inkwells does have a small chip to its rim but it is still usable.
