A super watercolour portrait of a rather distinguished genteleman dating from the 19th Century.
The portrait itself is rather naive in style but it's a lovely piece. You can't help wondering about the life this young man is leading.
The darkened frame is complemented by the gold rim to the picture and an acorn clasp at the top for hanging.
There are a few old worm holes to the top left section of the frame but this has been treated, and there is also a little dirt and dust to the underside of the glass in the frame. The frame is slightly bowed but is still perfect to hang.
A lovely characterful piece.
Length, 17cm (including top of clasp); Width, 13.5cm; Depth, 1.5cm. Portrait is 9cm by 7.5cm
