Antique 19th Century Extra Large Patisserie Stand

A lovely example of a scarce and highly sought after extra large white ironstone patisserie stand, dating from the late 19th Century.

Carrying the mark of the renowned Belgian makers, Boch Freres, this beautiful plain white cake stand dates from around 1880. It is amongst the largest that become available, measuring 36.5cm, or just over 14 inches, in width.

Ironstone stands like this would have commonly been used in patisseries or cake shops, as well as in butchers shops, to display the products available for sale.

They are now such desirable items to have and use around the home. They create a real centre piece or focal point for a table display and also are amazing items to have on display, perhaps as part of a kitchenalia collection, when not in use.

Aside from light surface scratches and mild stains in the centre of the stand, this stand is in remarkably excellent condition. There are some firing marks from the time of production but no chips or cracks. It is remarkable this has lasted so long in such nice condition.
