Antique 19th Century Extra Large Bressan Basket

A beautiful and rarely seen extra large sized authentic antique French Bressan basket, originating from the Bresse region of France.

Traditionally used as a market or fishing creel basket, this piece features tightly woven darkened wicker, braided structural handles, and original leather strap closures with aged brass studs. 

A perfect decorative item for lovers of French country interiors and rustic decor.

This basket does show some wear and age, with some small breakages to the wicker in places. This is mostly notable on the back and underside, where a small section of the base rim is missing. There is also a breakage to one of the internal joins but the basket still opens and closes without any problems..
