Antique 19th Century Bressan Basket

A beautiful medium sized authentic antique French Bressan basket, originating from the Bresse region of France.

Traditionally used as a market or fishing creel basket, this piece features tightly woven darkened wicker, braided structural handles, and original leather strap closures with aged brass studs. 

A perfect decorative item for lovers of French country interiors and rustic decor.

This basket does show some wear and age, with some small breakages and wear to the wicker in places and with the leather strap missing on the front and one broken on the back. There are also some old worm holes, but the basket has been treated and it is still a sturdy piece.
