19th Century Extra Large Ironstone Patisserie Stand

A lovely example of a scarce and highly sought after white ironstone patisserie stand, dating from the late 19th Century.

Carrying the mark of Petrus Regout of the Netherlands, this beautiful cake stand dates from around 1880. It is a fantastic large size, measuring 34cm in width.

Ironstone stands like this would have commonly been used in patisseries or cake shops, as well as in butchers shops, to display the products available for sale.

They are now such desirable items to have and use around the home. They create a real centre piece or focal point for a table display and also are amazing items to have on display, perhaps as part of a kitchenalia collection, when not in use.

Having been used over the years, there is buttery, crazed staining to the surface of this stand. But this has created a unique and very appealing patina. The stand is otherwise in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
