19th Century Antique French Terre de Fer Gien Wagram Plate

Available to purchase individually, these antique 19th Century terre de fer plates have just the right amount of timeworn colouring and charm.

Made by Gien, they are in the Wagram pattern, a series of designs featuring imperial iconography to commemmorate the 1809 Battle of Wagram. The decorative border is stunning, as is the backstamp (although this is missing on one of the plates).

The forest green colour of the plates blends beautifully with some light buttery colouring and crazing on each of the plates. They are all in lovely condition, with no cracks or chips. There's some light wear and nibbles on the rims, but these timeworn features all add to the charm of the plates. The plate missing its backstamp does also have a small firing fault on the back of it but it is stable.
