A delightful good family sized example of the Grimwades Quick Cooker Pudding Bowl, dating from the early 20th Century.

This pudding bowl dates to the 1920s. Produced by Grimwades, this company was renowned for using all available space on their kitchenware ranges to advertise their products and provide practical tips and advice on how to use them.

Made of white ironstone, these pudding bowls were designed to steam puddings from the inside (with a funnel providing direct heat to the middle of the bowl) as well as the outside, therefore resulting in an overall quicker cooking time. Hence its name as the ‘Quick Cooker’. All of the instructions for use are printed on the outside of the pot.

The underside of the lid also shows off some of the other examples of Grimwades' innovative kitchen utensils and their benefits.

It is in good condition and could still be used. There are some scuff marks to the top of the lid and some small age spots especially around the base rim. There is also a small nibble to the top of the spout and a tight crack in the base of the bowl, but this doesn't penetrate through.

Height, 10.5cm; Diameter, 17cm
