Victorian White Ironstone Rare Tall J Sainsburys Bloater Paste Advertising Pots

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

This is a listing for one of the rarer antique tall white ironstone large J Sainsbury’s bloater paste crocks, dating from the end of the 19th/early 20th Century.

These white ironstone jars are great examples of antique English advertising pots. In the harder to find larger size, they look wonderful on display as part of a kitchenalia or white ironstone collection, and are versatile to use in all rooms around the home.

At the time they were produced, these pots were discarded. These have been dig from an old Victorian dump, and therefore feature aged crazing and staining. However, they are all in excellent condition with clearly visible black transfer print logos, which is remarkable considering their volatile history as throwaway objects.

A total of three pots are available to choose, all in a mix of different patinas.

LEFT POT: The cleanest available, this pot has light crazing all over as well as a small patch which has rusted in colour above the logo. There is a minor scrape to the glaze on the inside rim as well as an old knock to the rim of the base.

Please check my other listings as I have a range of different advertising pots available, and discounts are available when combining postage.
