White Ironstone Gibsons Jappa Ware Kitchen Storage Jar for Cloves

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

A very sweet white ironstone kitchen storage jar for Cloves, made by the Stoke on Trent makers Gibsons in the mid twentieth Century.

Although this white ironstone pot is missing its lid, it is still an extremely attractive display piece, with “CLOVES” written across the front black transfer print typography against a backdrop of sprig leaves. The base is embossed with the Stoke on Trent mark for “Jappa Gibsons England”.

In excellent overall condition, it has some light aged crazing across the surface which adds to its charm and there is just some mild fading to the transfer. There are also some spots of staining to the inside base. This item would make an excellent addition to an ironstone or kitchenalia collection.
