Vintage Whiteware Fruit Preserving Jar
A highly decorative ‘Fruit Preserving Jar’, dating from the late 20th Century, which will look appealing in any kitchen setting.
This large stoneware vintage jar is a great piece to have on display. Designed to be used to preserve fruit in alcohol, the front pictorial design – in green transfer print – shows several alcoholic drinks surrounded by an abundance of exotic fruit. The back of the jar sets out detailed instructions for how to preserve fruits in alcohol for anyone wanting to have a try.
This large jar is in very good condition. The transfer is still nice and clear on both sides of the jar. There are some light nibbles and flakes to the top rim, and the base also shows signs of wear. However, on the whole, this is a nice decorative piece of kitchenalia.
