Vintage Mid Century Buttermilk Yellow Enamel Bread Bin
A wonderful large enamel bread bin in a delightful creamy yellow buttermilk colour with royal blue trim, dating from the 1950s.
This is a great opportunity to acquire a great piece of retro kitchenalia. In a creamy yellow (more like buttermilk) colour, this bread bin is striking yet not at all garish. The bread bin is large in size so there is plenty of room to store lots of different types of bread and rolls.
Overall, the bread bin is in very good condition. The enamel has been knocked, scratched and worn in a few places, most notably on the lid and its handle, and also on the blue rim. However, this is negligible compared to similar bread bins of the same age. The enamel has also corroded a little at the bottom of the bread bin, which has penetrated through. Again, this is not uncommon but as there are no air holes in the lid (this could easily be rectified) I would urge caution in storing goods directly on top of this corner of the bread bin.
Height, 30cm (base, 24cm); Width, 36cm (diameter of bread bin, 28cm)
