A quality mid 20th Century medium sized pestle and mortar.

This is a great piece of quality kitchenalia which is perfect for ongoing use in the home. A heavy, stoneware piece it is rare in that it has been finished in a white glaze. This gives the piece an elegant look.

A great family sized item, it is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a small amount of staining around the top rim of mortar, as well as some staining inside from use. However, this is quite minimal and overall it is a very clean piece. The hardwood pestle handle has faded a little over time but could be waxed or varnished to renew the colour. It should be noted that the end of the pestle is unglazed, allowing it to have a better grip when in use. Consequently there is some mild staining to this but it is not overly notable.
