Vintage Mid Century French Carved Butter Brick Mould

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

This is an outstanding vintage French butter brick mould, dating from the mid twentieth Century.

This wooden butter mould features nice carved detail of a floral display. Often, the carvings in these moulds helped to identify where butter was produced. Joined with a hinge at one end, the other end has a hook and latch allowing easy access once the butter has set.

With its rustic patina, this would look beautiful simply sat proudly on display to give a rustic touch to your interior kitchen styling. But as it’s in perfect working order, it’s also ideal for more adventurous cooks who might want to try making their own butter.

Apart from general age and wear to the fittings and the wood in some places, the mould is in excellent overall condition.
