Vintage Early to Mid 20th Century Set of Six Aluminium Graduating Kitchen Storage Canisters with Brass Labels
A nice set of six graduating French kitchen storage canisters, dating from the early to mid 20th Century, with striking brass labels.
This is a complete set of vintage French set of storage tins. In graduating heights, there are tins for ‘Sucre’ (sugar), Café (coffee), ‘Pates’ (pasta), Farine (flour), ‘Thé’ (tea) and ‘Épices’ (spices). All show signs of wear and age, with dents, scratches and oxidisation. Yet the labels are still very clear.
Most notably, the lid for the Café canister appears to be a slightly different shape to the rest, although it fits perfectly and isn’t overly notable. Also, the smallest Épices tin has a very small hole in its base and the lid has a more notable dent, resulting in the handle being slightly off centre. It would still be possible to use the pot if it was used with a liner.
Overall, though, this is a great vintage piece of French kitchenalia which would look great on display.
