A very rarely seen and uniquely carved vintage ‘Cheese’ board, dating from the mid 20th Century.

Dating from the 1960s, this carved wooden ‘Cheese’ board is a very rare find. Possibly an early example by Heals or Habitat (it is certainly in their style) these types of carved boards rarely become available, especially for ‘Cheese’.

The carved ‘cheese’ stands out at the top of the board and is very deeply carved. It is surrounded by a unique chip carved border.

This cheese board has been used over the years and therefore does show signs of use. Most notably, there are knife marks from use on both the front and back of the board. There is also an old small split on one side, and it appears the board has suffered a knock on the other side, with some of the border a little dented. There is also some staining from use.

However, this cheese board does sit flat and is still great to use and also to have on display when not in use. It’s a great collector’s item, especially when it’s so difficult to find any style of ‘Cheese’ boards.
