Antique Victorian Deeply Carved English Butter Stamp Featuring Fleur de Lys – the Prince of Wales Feathers

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

This is a quality and rare piece of antique treen kitchenalia dating from the nineteenth Century, with an excellent and deeply carved fleur de lys, the feathers for the Prince of Wales.

The Royal motif on this Victorian butter or biscuit stamp is very eye catching. Featuring a fleur de lys, the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales, the deep carved detail is exquisite. The carving is still incredibly sharp and crisp, with the detail very striking indeed. It features an integral turned wood handle. The detail of the border is also very eye catching and detailed. It’s a super and highly collectable piece.

The butter stamp is in excellent overall condition. There are some old surface cracks to the carved face, but these do not extend to the butter stamp overall, and in no way detract or alter the stamp quality.
