Antique Victorian Tall & Slim 1 Pound James Keiller Dundee Marmalade Advertising Pot

This is a listing for a one pound white ironstone James Keiller Dundee marmalade advertising pot, dating from the late Victorian period.
These white ironstone James Keiller marmalade pots were all handmade by Maling of Newcastle in the late Victorian period. The company produced their marmalade pots in a variety of sizes, and this is an example of the slim 1lb pot.
These pots feature a large black transfer print advertising James Keiller’s Dundee Marmalade, which won numerous awards at international exhibitions.
As most jars were discarded with common waste at the time, they are often discolored and may have numerous rust and age marks. This piece came from a dig and so has yellowed. It also has light crazing, which has also darkened with age, giving it a chippy and weathered patina. However, it is in overall excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Height, 11.5cm; Width, 7.5cm
UK mainland delivery included; international delivery a maximum of £14.00, depending on location.
