Antique Victorian Large English Advertising Pot or Crock for J Sainsburys

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

This is a listing for one antique white ironstone large J Sainsbury’s potted meat crocks, dating from the end of the 19th/early 20th Century.

These little ironstone jars are great examples of antique English advertising pots. In the harder to find larger size, they look wonderful on display as part of a kitchenalia or white ironstone collection, and are versatile to use in all rooms around the home.

At the time they were produced, these pots were discarded. These have been dig from an old Victorian dump, and therefore feature aged crazing and staining. However, they are all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, which is remarkable considering their volatile history as throwaway objects.

Only one pot is still available, the one on the far right. It is the cleanest of the three, although it still has crazing and a small firing fault is also noticeable on the bottom edge of one side.

Please note I also have a number of slightly smaller J Sainsbury’s pots in stock too, and there are discounts available for multiple purchases.
