Antique Victorian White Ironstone English Advertising Pot – Boots Cash Chemist Confection of Senna

antique edwardian early 20th century white ironstone english advertising pot boots cash chemist confection senna original lid

A stunning timeworn example of an antique Victorian white ironstone English advertising pot for Boots’ Confection of Senna.

Dating from the early 1900s, this white ironstone jar is a great example of an antique English advertising pot, produced by Boots chemists (still a recognisable UK brand today). It would look wonderful on display as part of a kitchenalia or white ironstone collection, and is versatile to use in all rooms around the home.

At the time they were produced, these pots were discarded. This has been dig from an old Victorian dump, and therefore features aged crazing and staining as well as some knocks.

However, the pot is still in good overall condition with clear green transfer print on all sides advertising the herbal medicine. Most notably, there is a stunning print of the senna plant on one side which is still very clear.

The pot itself has lightly stained crazing all over, which adds a great patina and feel to the piece. It is remarkably complete with its original ceramic lid, however this has suffered some damage, with one side chipped away.
