Antique Victorian Barrel Shaped Wall Hanging Treen Salt Holder with Rich Patina

1930s antique Meredith Drew glass shop counter advertising display jar

A wonderful Scottish treen wall hanging salt holder, dating from the 1800s.

This is a fine example of an antique Victorian wooden salt box. With a rich colour and patination, it looks amazing on display. It can be left as a freestanding piece, but also has a hanging loop for attaching to the wall, as originally intended.

The wood on this treen salt holder is a warm, rich colour. The box is in excellent working order still. There is some old damage to the hanging loop, where a split has previously been repaired and some wood has come away long ago. But these all add to the patina and timeworn appeal of this antique piece, and in no way detract from its overall stunning appearance.
