Antique Victorian Brown Transferware Ironstone Trinket Dish or Tray by Boulton, Machin & Tennant

antique victorian brown transferware ironstone trinket dish tray boulton Machin Tennant

This is a stunning chippy antique transferware trinket dish, dating to the late 19th Century.

In fair condition for its age, this is a rarely seen example of a small trinket dish, featuring a brown transferware ‘Petunia’ pattern. Produced by an English firm of potters, Boulton, Machin & Tennant, the trademark dates the pattern to 1891.

In chippy condition, this ironstone dish oozes timeworn vintage charm. There is a small chip to the edge and also some areas of staining. There is also crazing all over, which has stained in places. But this blends in well with the pattern.

However, overall it’s a lovely looking piece which is perfect for adding a vintage country feel to your decor. It can be used in a range of rooms, for jewellery, as a soap dish and for keys or loose change.
