Victorian White Ironstone Advertising Pot – J Sainsbury’s Potted Meat
This is a listing for an antique white ironstone medium-sized J Sainsbury’s potted meat crock, dating from the end of the 19th/early 20th Century.
These little ironstone jars are great examples of antique English advertising pots. In the standard size, they look wonderful on display as part of a kitchenalia or white ironstone collection, and are versatile to use in all rooms around the home.
At the time they were produced, these pots were discarded and thrown away. This has been dug from an old Victorian dump, and therefore does have chippy features. Most notably, the pot has yellow staining to it, which is deeper towards the bottom of the pot and inside. There are also two hairlines on the back of the pot, one of which is quite significant. Nonetheless, it’s still a great little piece for displaying and is stable.
