Rare French Confitures Pot Nouvelles Stoneware Advertising Jam Jar
This is a listing for ONE antique French stoneware confiture pot, featuring advertising for ‘Confitures Nouvelles’, a type of jam. A total of two are available to choose from, in varying worn patinas.
Dating from the early to mid 20th Century, these versatile, practical and useful stoneware jars were often kept after purchase, as they made great containers for olives and preserves. A rounder and shallower shape compared to most French confiture pots, they make excellent display pieces.
Both in excellent condition, these pots are lovely decorative pieces with the brown transfer print across their fronts.
The condition of both pots is excellent, with no significant chips or cracks, although they show varying degrees of vintage wear.
LEFT POT: a few nibbles to the top rim and some mild crazing, which is more notable on the inside base of the pot.
RIGHT POT: the rim and side of the pot show more wear and discolouration, a result of the firing process. The inside of the pot is also lightly stained. Overall, though, the pot is very clean and has a clear transfer.
