Antique Rare Early 20th Century Carved Treen Lemon Knife
A very rarely seen example of a carved treen handled English ‘Lemon’ knife, dating from the early twentieth Century, with an EPNS blade.
Carved utensils such as this have become increasingly popular in recent years and even the more common ‘Butter’ knives like these are getting harder to source. This example, with ‘LEMON’ lightly carved into the handle, is a very scarce example.
The detail on the carving is still clear and legible, and the handle itself has a warm honey colour to it. The EPNS blade has rubbed with age, but this could be re-plated inexpensively if a polished finish is desired. The serated edge of the knife is still in tact and works well.
This is a wonderful piece of English kitchenalia which is getting harder to find and would make a lovely addition to a country style of rustic farmhouse kitchen.
