Scarce Antique Early 20th Century White Ironstone Picnic Butter Pot by Coracle
A delightful white Edwardian ironstone butter pot complete with its original lid, which would have been part of a larger picnic set in the early 20th Century.
This ironstone butter pot has the word ‘”Butter” indented around the edge of the lid, with black transfer print finishing it off. On the base the original Coracle Brand trademark can be seen. Unfortunately, the original leather strap which would have bounded this together is missing. This has been replaced long ago with an elastic band which has taken on a leather look to it over time. This is in a fairly fragile condition but I have kept this with the pot as I find it so charming.
The pot is in fair overall condition. Most notable, there is a significant chip to the base of the lid on one side. It isn’t overly notable when carefully displayed though. There is also some light crazing and discoloration in places both inside and out, and minor wear to the base.
A great and unique addition to an ironstone or kitchenalia collection.
