Rare Shaped Antique 1930s White Ironstone Shortbread Mould with Thistle Decoration by Maling
A highly collectable and rare piece of kitchenalia dating from the early 20th Century.
Made by Maling in England around 1930, this is a very rare example. Using the same mould as the highly sought after Brown & Polson advertising shortbread moulds, this oblong shaped white ironstone example is just as rare as its cousins featuring the advertising.
This piece displays well, but is equally usable and is perfect for making your own homemade shortbread.
The mould is in overall good condition and is a lovely quality piece. It has crazing to the glazing on both sides, but this adds a delicate charm to the piece. There are two very small flake chips and a firing fault on the back. Other than that, though, it is in excellent clean condition.
