Vintage Mid Century Ironstone Lidded Butter Dish with Cow Handle

This is a very sweet vintage mid Century ironstone butter dish, with a labelled base and feature cow handle on the lid.

It is unusual to find these dishes with the bases labelled in black underglazed typography, as this example is. The lid is especially sweet, with a cow used as the handle and also featuring a picket fence.

Having seen many years of use, this butter dish does show signs f its age. There is a notable dairy smell on this piece, and there is also some staining and crazing which is most notable on the base. This is where it has come into regular contact with grease. However, there are no cracks or chips and it is otherwise in good condition.
