A sweet and rustic carved wooden shortbread mould.
This antique treen shortbread mould is a naive example, but the deep carving on it makes it stand out. The wood has a rich patina and deep colour to it.
This piece displays well, but is still equally usable for making your own homemade shortbread at home, which can be pressed onto it.
The mould is in overall good condition with just some odd dents and knocks to the outer border. The carving is naive and basic but it’s an impressive large size and is also quite deep, and so the overall effect is very charming. and doesn’t appear to have had any significant wear. Some of the carving appears quite naive on close inspection but overall it’s a lovely looking piece of antique kitchenalia. There is also hole in the handle, which is useful for display purposes.
