Rare Extra Large Plain White Ironstone Patisserie Stand By Societe Ceramique

A lovely example of a scarce and highly sought after extra large white ironstone patisserie stand, dating from the early 20th Century.

Carrying the mark of the renowned Dutch makers, Societe Ceramique of Maastricht, this beautiful plain white cake stand dates from around 1920. It is amongst the largest that become available, measuring 37cm in width.

Ironstone stands like this would have commonly been used in patisseries or cake shops, as well as in butchers shops, to display the products available for sale.

They are now such desirable items to have and use around the home. They create a real centre piece or focal point for a table display and also are amazing items to have on display, perhaps as part of a kitchenalia collection, when not in use.

Aside from light staining in the centre of the stand and around the top and base rims, as well as some surface cut marks, this stand is otherwise in excellent condition. It is largely clean, with no crazing, cracks or chips.
