A very rare and very fine example of a Victorian treen egg rack, capable of holding two dozen eggs over two tiers, dating from the late 1800s.
With turned column supports, and finials which are firm and sturdy, it is a very well made and sturdy piece of treen kitchenalia. Egg racks of this size are now also very difficult to source.
In lovely condition, the only signs of wear are from a small amount of rubbing to the edges of the rack. It is a quality and sturdy antique egg rack. Dark wax has been applied at some point but the overall patina is nonetheless very rich.
Length, 25cm; Depth, 15cm; Height, 18.5cm
