A delightful good family sized example of the Grimwades Quick Cooker Pudding Bowl, dating from the early 20th Century.
Produced by Grimwades, this company was renowned for using all available space on their kitchenware ranges to advertise their products and provide practical tips and advice on how to use them. An earlier example of the Quick Cooker bowl, this is a rare example which has advertising on the underside of the lid for other products in the Grimwades range - including the pie funnel, pie dish, milk bowl and jug.
Made of white ironstone, these pudding bowls were designed to steam puddings from the inside (with a funnel providing direct heat to the middle of the bowl) as well as the outside, therefore resulting in an overall quicker cooking time. Hence its name as the ‘Quick Cooker’. All of the instructions for use are printed on the outside of the pot.
It is in excellent condition and could still be used. The only signs of age are some light surface scratches and small age spots. There is also a very small chip to the top of the funnel.
Height, 10cm
Width, 17cm
