A very rarely seen example of an early 20th Century carved treen cheese dish, complete with its original ironstone liner plate.

In excellent condition, the carved 'Cheese' lettering is still very crisp and sharp. The wood has a lovely honey coloured patina to it and the board sits flat. There are some minor areas of staining but these add to the patina and timeworn charm of the piece.

The blue liner plate is also in good condition. There is some very light crazing and a small blemish to the glaze but otherwise it is clean and good to use.

It is very rare to come across carved pieces like this now. This piece is a fabulous display item but is also perfect as a small cheese serving dish for one or two people.
