A scarcely found antique shop advertising display piece for Meredith & Drew Biscuits, dating from the 1920s.
This is a wonderful antique advertising piece, which would look wonderful on display or even used once again to store biscuits in.
Dating from the early part of the 20th Century, this glass advertising jar would have sat on a shop counter filled with Meredith & Drew Biscuits, which would have been sold loosely from this jar or would have been a display advertising item. Across the front of the jar is the Meredith & Drew Biscuits logo in fantastic deep blue etching.
Considering the age of this piece, it is in fantastic condition. The vividness of the blue etching on the front of the jar is particularly striking. There are some air bubbles and lines running down the glass, which are from the time of production. Additionally, there is one small nibble to the inside top rim, no doubt from where it would have been knocked when in use. But overall this jar is in excellent condition.
The aluminium lid, in vivid blue and with raised typography, really stands out on this piece. There are a few surface scratches and one small knock but nothing significant.
Overall, it's a really stunning piece of antique advertising.
