Large Antique French White Ironstone Soupiere by Sarreguemines

A wonderful large French antique white ironstone soupiere, soup tureen or casserole dish, dating from the early part of the twentieth Century, and made the famous French makers Sarreguemines.

This beautiful white ironstone lidded serving dish was sourced in France and would make a wonderful addition to a white ironstone collection.

The soupière has wonderful scuplted handles, which help to give the tureen a stunning and stand out look to it. It is large enough to be used to serve food for a number of people too.

It has aged over time, with some scuff marks and minor knocks, mostly on the rim of the base dish. There is no crazing, although there is a small surface crack to the glaze in one area. However, this doesn't penetrate through and the piece is solid.

There have been some repairs to this piece over time. The lid has had a chip repaired on one side, plus the handle has been repaired. It is priced to reflect these imperfections, and is nonetheless still an impressive and stunning piece of antique French kitchenalia. It is notably in very clean condition. 

These tureens are excellent to use for display around the home and are perfect for adding a French country or rustic farmhouse touch to any interior.
