Large Antique French Stoneware Mixing Bowl with Lion Head Handles

A lovely heavyweight example of an unusually shaped large French white stoneware mixing bowl with decorative lion head handles.

Dating from the early to mid 20th Century, this whiteware bowl is in excellent condition. A heavy duty and sturdy piece of French ironstone, this bowl is perfect for day to day use and also looks beautiful on display.

In fair condition for its age, this bowl has no cracks or chips. There is some aged staining to the inside from use, plus a small crack to the glaze on the inside too although this doesn't penetrate through. There are also some firing pock marks all over the piece. But overall it's a sturdy piece of French kitchenalia which both looks attractive and has many more years of use left.
