A lovely condition large Edwardian white ironstone slop bucket, which could serve a multitude of uses in today's modern home.

These wonderful ceramic buckets or pails were originally used for disposing of waste water, particularly after bathing, when bathrooms were uncommon.

This lovely white ironstone version is very solid and heavy with wonderful sculpted handles which are an integral part of the piece. Although this antique pail is missing its handle and lid, it’s nonetheless still such a versatile and decorative item.

The large size of this bucket makes it perfect for use as an ice cooler for wine or champagne, comfortably able to hold up to three bottles at the same time. Its large and imposing size mean it also looks perfect on display or as part of a white ironstone kitchenalia collection. It would also make for a wonderful planter or could be used to display dried or fresh flowers.

This ironstone pail is in excellent clean condition. There are no cracks or crazing. There are some scuff marks towards the bottom of the front and back of the pail, and some light staining on the top rim and inside base, no doubt from where it has been used over the years. However, overall it's in very clean condition.
