Large Antique Edwardian Barrel Banded White Ironstone Butter Dish
Large Antique Edwardian Barrel Banded White Ironstone Butter Dish
This is a great sized rare white barrel banded ironstone butter dish or crock made in the early part of the 20th Century.
Dating from the Edwardian period, this labelled ‘Butter’ dish in in excellent clean condition. It’s an extra large size, perfect for a family to use, either day to day or when entertaining. And its classic and highly sought after style looks fantastic on display at other times.
It is a very clean example, with no crazing, and very bold and clear black underglaze typography. Sadly, there is no lid with this piece but it is still perfectly usable.
The crock is in excellent condition, with a very clean appearance and no cracks, chips or crazing. There is a small patch of staning to the front, plus around the top and base rims.
