Extra Large Antique 19th Century French White Stoneware Confit Pot
This is a very rare extra large French 19th Century confit pot, measuring a huge 21.5cm tall and 21cm in width. I have not come across another this size before.
Sourced in Provence, this white stoneware pot dated to the 1800s. A French country piece, it would have been used for preserving different foods in a countryside property. It has taken some knocks and wear in its lifetime but this has added natural timeworn charm.
Large confit pots like this are perfect for modern day decorative use. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used used for display purposes anywhere in the home. And the neutral white hues of this pot works well in any interior.
The condition of this confit pot is fair. It has knocks to the top rim and some hairline cracks running down from here. However, overall it is in sturdy condition. There is sme light surface crazing in places, and wear to the base rim too but overall it is a clean example which is particularly remarkable considering its age.
