Beautiful Antique French Lidded Transferware Tureen

A stunning example of an early to mid 20th Century example of a lidded transferware French Tureen.

This is a beautiful piece, featuring a bluey grey floral pattern to the base and lid, with the same colour also featuring on the handles. The tureen has wonderful scuplted handles and features, which help to give the tureen a stunning and stand out look to it. It is large enough to be used to serve food for a number of people too.

It has aged over time, with some patches light crazing and areas of wear and some minor knocks and scuff marks, although these are mostly notable on the inside of the base dish. No doubt this is the result of use over the years and it adds a unique timeworn patina. Other than this, it is in excellent order with no cracks or chips. There is a maker's mark on the base, although this has faded in places and I don't recognise it.

These tureens are excellent to use for display around the home and are perfect for adding a French country or rustic farmhouse touch to any interior.
