Antique Victorian Carved Want Not Breadboard - As Found Condition

Although this antique Victorian breadboard has had some repair work, it is still a highly decorative item.

Dating from the late 1800s, with a "Want Not" motto flanked by wheat ears, this 19th Century breadboard still has lots of character and charm, with its rich colour and patina. The "Want Not" motto, in stylised, gothic style script, is particularly noteworthy and is very crisp and sharp still. 

Unfortunately, it is obvious this breadboard has at some point suffered a break and has a rather crude glue repair, with some of the glue spilling onto the board. The repair is stable although I wouldn't recommend using this board for anything other than decorative purposes.

Nonetheless, the board still has a very nice colour to it and is a perfect vintage styling piece.
