A fabulous tall tiered example of a Victorian copper jelly mould dating to around 1880.
Stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams, above the pattern number 466 on one side, the other side has a workman's mark in the shape of a radiating sun.
It is a wonderful and elaborate shape, with two tiers of five angular columns, each joined by a draped border.
Made of heavy gauge copper, it has sadly suffered some damage and has splits and small dents at the top of most of the columns where the right angles of the copper meet. The tinning to the interior of the mould has worn. However, as a decorative piece of antique kitchenalia, it's a wonderful example.
Height, 15cm; Diameter, 12.5cm
