Antique Swedish Large Decorative Cheese Mould

Dating from the early to mid 20th Century, this is a beautiful and rarely seen example of an antique Swedish cheese strainer. 

Vintage Swedish kitchenware like this are often pieces of folk art in themselves, and this tin cheese drainer is no exception, with a fabulous geometric pattern taking centre stage.

With pierced geometric shaped all over the base of the mould, its purpose was to allow whey to drain away during the cheesemaking process. 

With a hook at the top for hanging on the wall, this mould now lends itself to the perfect decorative wall accessory.

There is some light oxidisation and wear to the tin on the inside base, no doubt from where it has been used over the years, but otherwise this is in very good order.
