Sourced from the Calabrese region of Southern Italy, this is a stunning antique Italian confit pot with gorgeous wear and patina to it, dating from the early 1800s.

An Italian country piece, it would have been used for preserving different foods in a countryside property. It has taken some knocks and wear in its lifetime but this has added natural timeworn charm.

These stoneware pots are perfect for modern day decorative use. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used used for display purposes anywhere in the home. And the neutral, grey and beige hues of this pot works well in any interior.

The condition of this confit pot is fair. It has knocks to the top rim and mix of beige, grey and yellow tones which have natural drips and glaze imperfections, and which have discoloured and worn in places over time. There is a crack on one side at the top of the pot but the whole pot is stable nonetheless. The pot has an oval shape to it which is quite unusual and makes it a feature in itself.
