This is a stunning antique French ironstone lidded razor dish, dating to around 1900.

In beautiful condition for its age, this is a rarely seen ironstone French dish its original lid. Sourced from a private collection, this example was hand painted with a blue floral pattern and decorative border. The base of the dish has a beautiful hand painted mark for 'Dalhea' with some initials.

In lovely aged condition, there are no cracks, chips or crazing. There are a number of age spots, some of which have stained over time. These are most notable on the lid and on the inside base of the dish.

Originally intended to hold razors in, this is still an immensely practical piece to have in any part of the home, perfect for use in the bathroom still perhaps for soaps or as a toothbrush holder. It would also make a perfect soap dish, trinket pot or jewellery holder.
