A nice example of a carved English wooden butter dish or board, dating from the very start of the 20th Century, complete with its original ironstone liner plate.

Although this carved wooden butter dish is, on the face of it, quite simple in design, the carving on it is still very clear.

Complete with its original liner plate, with a willow pattern and carrying a Stoke on Trent pottery mark, these butter boards make excellent display items as part of a kitchenalia or treen collection, yet are also still immensely useful. The butter dish is removable, for those who would prefer to display this dish on its own.

In overall good condition, the only signs of wear are some mild water staining marks to the edge of the board in places.
