Antique Early 20th Century Wirework Cake Cooling Rack with Raised Bar

A versatile, useful and decorative antique wirework cake cooling rack.

Dating to the early 20th Century, this cooling rack is a great piece of antique kitchenalia to have in the home. Although it is simple in style, the wirework grid has a crimped style which adds a nice decorative feature to this cake rack. The rack also features a rare raised bar around the edge, designed to prevent cakes from toppling off the edge. Great for ongoing use as a cake stand, but this rack would also look great displayed as part of a kitchenalia collection.

At more than 100 years old, this wirework rack is in remarkably good condition. There is one small piece of wirework which has become detached from the edge and so is loose but this doesn’t affect use of the rack in any way. The raised rack around the edge is fixed firmly in position and the whole rack is very sturdy still.

Overall, it’s a very sweet item which looks lovely displayed in its own right but is also still a very usable piece of kitchenalia.
